Johnson was raised in the San Fernando Valley and grew up at CCAC. God graciously saved Johnson through the ministry of CCAC, and he saw the truths of the Bible lived out in the church family. Johnson counts it as a tremendous privilege to minister God’s Word where he grew up.
After graduating at UCLA with a degree in Economics, Johnson worked as an accountant. But he soon enrolled in The Master’s Seminary for a Master of Divinity in order to pursue full time ministry. He has also received a ThM (Master of Theology) and PhD at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Johnson is blessed with a wonderful wife in Emily. The Lord has brought them on many adventures through living in Louisville, Baltimore, and now back in Los Angeles. Along the way, God has given them three children and taken one home. It is Johnson’s hope that wherever God places him, God would use him and his family so that others would have “ample cause to glory in Christ Jesus” (Phil 1:26).
